Relevant employers can provide a publicly accessible URL or hyperlink (link) to an Employer Statement to sit alongside their gender pay gap (GPG) results published on the WGEA Data Explorer.
This statement allows employers to communicate with key stakeholders about their gender pay gap and the actions they undertake to address it.
GPG publication
For further information about GPGs, publication and resources to assist employers to reduce their GPG, refer to Gender Pay Gap Publication.
Employer Statement Guide
The GPG is a universally recognised metric of workplace gender equality. However, it is only one measure of an employer’s commitment to achieving gender equality in the workplace.
The Employer Statement provides an opportunity for employers to give context to your gender pay gap and what you are doing about it. Ideally, it details the drivers of your gap and the actions you are taking, or plan to take to address them.
WGEA's Employer Statement Guide details key steps to develop your statement and how to use it to drive action within your workplace.
Important: WGEA does not review or warrant the accuracy of your Employer Statement to third parties.
How to upload a link to your Employer Statement
Employers can create a statement which provides context to the gender pay gap(s) published by WGEA.
From February each year, reporting contacts can upload a publicly accessible link to your Employer Statement via the WGEA Employer Portal. Creating an employer statement and providing a URL link is voluntary.
A link to your Employer Statement will be made visible on WGEA Data Explorer when your gender pay gap is published. It will be situated next to your gender pay gap.
Instructions:
-
Log into the WGEA Employer Portal
-
Select the ‘Employer Statement’ tab
-
Select the organisation/s from the displayed list
-
Enter the full URL address (starting with ‘https://’) against the selected employer
-
You must read the notice and disclaimer to save your employer statement link.
Upload your link in February
Private sector employers can upload their link any time from 3rd February. However, to ensure your Employer Statement is published on the Data Explorer at the same time as your gender pay gap, you must have uploaded a link by COB 24th February.
The link to your Employer Statement will not go live before gender pay gaps are published. However, you can publish and/or distribute your Employer Statement on your website or elsewhere prior to this time.
Corporate groups
Only the organisations that received their own specific Executive Summary will appear in the Employer Statement list below.
Corporate group employers can provide a link for the publication of a group-wide employer statement as well as a link for an employer statement specific to a subsidiary. If an employer wants their corporate group employer statement to also be published alongside some/all of their subsidiary’s gender pay gaps, then you must add a link for each subsidiary.
A publicly accessible link does...
